Morning Rituals

How you start your morning will set the tone for the rest of your day. How many times have you heard that? Do you actually believe it? I didn’t until I had kids.

Our kids are early risers. When they’re up, they. are. up. They were sleep trained so every time that little 6:30 alarm clock gets out of his bed, I only have myself to blame. That being said, their moods (and frankly my mood) set the tone for the rest of the day.

6:15 AM: Meditate

I’ve started using the meditation menu on the Peloton app which I love and try to get a 10 minute session in before the kids get out of their beds. This is not always possible.

6:30 AM: Kids are up and we fight to put clothes on.

7:30 AM: Me and the kids head downstairs for the day.

Before coffee I start the day with warm water, a large pinch of Celtic sea salt, and a good squeeze of lemon. Celtic salt is a great source of minerals, balances electrolytes and improves digestion.

8:00 AM: Breakfast for the kids. (I intermittent fast until 12:30. I’ll save that post for another day). Make a coconut milk latte. I am grateful for my Nespresso everyday. Full disclosure: the latte is kind of an intermittent fast “cheat”.

8:30 AM: Off to school/daycare!

I love a morning workout but it’s not always possible so I’ll do a 30-45 minute workout in the afternoon.
