FLOWERS 101

If you know me or you’ve been to our house you’d know two things: you’ll leave our house with a full belly and you’ll notice fresh flowers in every room. I think bringing nature inside elevates your living space. This could be an orchid on the windowsill, a potted succulent (highly recommend for the brownest of thumbs because they’re low maintenance and live for a long time) or a fresh flower arrangement. Oh, and don’t forget the bathroom. Don’t let the loo be an afterthought!

To arrange a simple flower arrangement, think 3 things:

  1. Start with a pop of colour.

  2. Add white to the pop of colour.

  3. Add green to fill.

Arrange your flowers into their different piles according to colour.

Cut them as you go to the right length according to the height of your vase. (Cut on an angle).

Start by placing coloured flowers in the vase - use an odd number.

Arrange white flowers next to the colourful flowers.

Fill the rest of the space with your greenery.

Cut the stems and change the water every 2-3 days and you’ll be shocked how long your arrangement lasts!
